I have not shipped media products from Cairo for years due to the unreliable technical quality, and dubious provenance in many cases. Raqia Hassan's recent visit to the International Bellydance Congress in the UK led me to take a fresh look at her material, as she is undeniably a most influential master instructor / choreographer and producer of music.
The sound quality on her DVDs still leaves much to be desired, but I found the picture quality much better than on the earlier product. As Raqia's teaching method relies heavily on "show" rather than "tell" I decided that the time is right to offer her most recent instructional DVDs and some new music.
The pattern is for Raqia to demonstrate her moves slowly herself, and then have a young, often famous, dancer demonstrate at normal tempo. There is quite a lot of new material on these two DVDs; they will not be too daunting to the beginner / improver, but even the most experienced dancers can always learn from Raqia.
