REDA DARWISH, a native of Cairo, has played percussion from hie earliest years. By the time he was 8 years old he was featured in a weekly programme on Egyptian Television. Reda went on to play with mayy of Egypt's most famous dancers and singers including amongst many others such greats as Ahmed Adaweya, Samira Said, Fifi Abdo and Mona Said. He also worked with Beata & Horacio Cifuentes on two of their CDs.Tiring of the relentless round of Night Club work, he went on to better paid work in Egypt's top studios, working with the great composers ans performers. He is now based in San Francisco where he occasionally lends his expertise to dancers productions.I was priveledged to see him live on stage at the Rakkasah festival there in 2003, where he brought the huge auditorium to a virtual standstill with his magic fingers.
