Rhythm Workshop
This recording is designed to help both dancers and musicians to identify the most commonly used rhythms found in traditional Arabic Bellydance music. Also included, however, are a few Latin, Moroccan. Persian, and Turkish rhythms which can be found in the traditional music of North Africa and the Middle East.
Each track starts with a Clave click track which plays the underlying pulse. As the track progresses, one by one, each instrument is introduced. Each rhythm, (with a few exceptions) is played at two tempos so that the student can first practice with ease and later progress to a more challenging pace.
Do we really need another Rhythm CD? Suhaila Salimpour is such a powerfull influence in West Coast USA, and her coverage of this subject so comprehensive, that I decided it was too important to leave out.
Total of 44 tracks ranginbg from 1:05 to 2:23 minutes covering 27 different rhythms.
